A country that has been established only 90 years ago. A country that has been searching its personality for ages. A country where a lot of proud people you find – proud for who they are. A country that nation has ugly history, but bright future. Future that every Latvian holds in his/her hands, future that young countries have in their hands for older world.

Congratulations all countries that were established after WW I and congratulations Latvia in upcoming 90th birthday!!!

but in genereal this project is without start and end. Herby we would welcome all coments regarding WOTW to make it more alive cureently while registered number is low.

Recently a group of social active and creative people launched a project: http://www.collectivememory.tv/

Collective Memory is to create on-line history book by adding through above home page historic video stories. Good job!!

As the project founders are Latvians we are happy that one of WOTW goals is successfully in place – new projects inspired by WOTW should follow. We could name this as 1st example.

It is a question about our attitude and impact that our attitude can leave on people on probation. Why it worries me – it is rather why it should worry all of us.

What amazes me the most is how good in some countries, for instance like UK (http://www.probation.homeoffice.gov.uk/output/page2.asp) they have developed sound help and created good environment for people on probation. I may sound silly but I never have imagined problems that convicted could face and that around us there are developed systems that help to eliminate and ease the pressure on convicts.

I believe we have share info and thoughts on this topic then it will lead to more opened society and shape the environment -> we help, we share, we are aware and welcome them back rather than throw them back to jail.

A saying “you are afraid of something you don’t know”

You might ask why now such a topic? Might be that crime will activate along with global crises and if we would not welcome convicts on probation back we might see them to be the 1^st that will be forced to turn to crime gain.

Why did we start this vote? The idea was born after we received an email saying something like „Hey guys, what are you doing this for – we all are going to die soon anyway because of this large HC thing”.

Heck no, we don’t think so! :)

So our next thought was – why don’t we ask the same question to all us folks. Do we really believe the thing called Large Hadron Collider could destroy the Earth and stop everything we (the whole world population) do and live for?

What we ask is just to say “yes” or “no”, follow the results on the website or via RSS feed and ask your friends to join the vote.

Please don’t take this vote too much seriously and be positive about our future, however, it will be fun to see what majority thinks about the LHC vs Earth topic.
